Book on archive history launched

On Friday 20 November, at 5.30 p.m., "Gli archivi d'impresa" (Company Archives) will be presented online. The volume brings together more than thirty contributions from archivists, business historians, managers and professionals who, in various capacities and with different skills, have dealt with this particular type of archives, which have been built up and preserved by the vast and varied fabric of Italian business. Born from an idea of Giorgetta Bonfiglio-Dosio, Carolina Lussana, director of Fondazione Dalmine, the historical archives of Tenaris, and Lucia Nardi, Head of Eni's Archive, the book tells the story of business archives over the course of almost fifty years. How they are created, what they offer, how they can be protected and valued, and who they are for. Featuring multiple contributors, the book includes the reflections of the managers of Italian business archives or shared archives, lecturers in archiving and history, heritage experts and representatives of the national archival administration. It offers an accurate picture of the evolution of this sector with an eye to their future as they juggle new scenarios of expansion and digitalization. The presentation of the book will mark the close of the events of the 19th Corporate Culture Week, which began on 5 November, with a varied programme of initiatives to help people discover the immense cultural heritage preserved in the museums and archives of large, medium and small Italian companies.
