Films and photos created by the energy industry, audiovisual languages and new communication strategies. This has been one among various subjects addressed by researchers and archivists from all over Europe on 23 and 24 May 2019 at Villa Montecucco, Castel Gandolfo, the new home of Eni's Historical Archive.
This is the 10th meeting of representatives and supporters of the EOGAN - European Oil and Gas Archive Network. Following Stavanger (Norway), they are returning to Italy as guests, for the third time, to discuss: "Energy and audio-visual heritage: sources, research and visual culture".
The EOGAN's annual meeting represents an opportunity for oil and gas industry researchers and archivists and directors of archives at companies and other institutions to meet and exchange ideas for projects and exhibitions, research publications on the history of energy and other related issues.
The EOGAN is a network of company, public, cultural institution, energy company and academic institution archives, with Eni among its founders. The shared goal is to preserve the records of the history of energy and energy policy and use the archives for sharing expertise and experience. Among its members are oil and gas companies, universities and archival institutions, all with a specific interest in the history of oil and gas. It includes, among others, the historical archives of Eni and Total, the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, the EDF Foundation in France, the University of Aberdeen and the Energy Institute at Durham University. Eni is one of the founders of this important network.
